A Beginner's Guide to TWICE Part 3
A Beginner's Guide to TWICE Part 3
All right, so now that you've consumed all of TWICE MVs, Music Shows, Variety Shows, VLives, and bought all of their Albums, and collected all of their photocards and various other merchandise knick-knacks, you are ready for TWICE Concerts!!!
If you are like me, and have gotten to know TWICE a bit late since their debut, it's valuable (or just downright necessary) to go back and see their biggest concerts. Personally, I went back and watched them chronologically so I could see their growth as performers and idols and I also wanted to keep the eras in order as well. But feel free to skip around as you see fit, especially if one particular era suits more to your taste and liking.
For the sake of attention, this blog post will focus on their main concerts and not include fan meetings and online concerts.

TWICE 1st Tour: TWICELAND The Opening
TWICE 1st Tour: TWICELAND The Opening is the first Asia concert tour by TWICE. The first show was held on February 17, 2017 at SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea.
If you love TWICE's cute concepts early in their career, then you will love this concert. Their setlist covers songs from The Story Begins to Twicecoaster: Lane 1 eras, so expect most of their catalog of cheerful, bubblegum, color pop that defined their sound in their early eras. The members are a bit shy still when interacting with each other and the audience. But that's natural given their early exposure to such a big spotlight. It's nice to see Jeongyeon doing her ostrich bit here too, kyooo!
The first leg in Seoul was filmed and released on DVD on December 28, 2017. A Blu-Ray version was also released on January 26, 2018.
TWICE 1ST TOUR "TWICELAND THE OPENING" 2017
The encore show in Seoul was also filmed and was released in DVD on June 26, 2018. A Blu-Ray version was also released on July 17, 2018.
TWICE Showcase Live Tour 2018 "Candy Pop"
TWICE Showcase Live Tour 2018 "Candy Pop" is the first showcase tour by TWICE. Held in support of their second Japanese single "Candy Pop", the group visited six Japanese cities from January 19 to February 1, 2018.
I have yet to even view this concert in full. I tend to skip Japanese releases simply because the showcase is just Japanese versions of their past catalog with at least one original release and there are usually no English subtitles available. In this case, it is "Candy Pop", which is one of my favorite Japanese releases. But for some reason, just one new song didn't warrant me dedicating another 1-2 hours of my full attention. But if you are a completionist, by all means watch this concert.
TWICE 2nd Tour: TWICELAND Zone 2: Fantasy Park
TWICE 2nd Tour: TWICELAND Zone 2: Fantasy Park is the second Asia tour held by TWICE. The first show was held on May 18, 2018 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul, South Korea.
TWICELAND Zone 2: Fantasy Park is probably my personal favorite TWICE Concert of all time simply because it encapsulates all of my favorite eras of TWICE in one show. From "Like OOH-AHH" to "What is Love?", and all the great B-Sides of those wonderful early eras, this showcase is wonderful from start to finish. At a whopping 3-hour run time, our girls managed to squeeze in a 28 song setlist (35 including encore songs), emotional and engaging ments in between, that make for a rollercoaster of the feels for ONCEs live in concert and us at home viewing on DVD or Blu-ray.
If I were to choose one concert tour to introduce to new ONCEs, it would be this show!
On December 7, 2018, the movie was released for ten days at 50 ScreenX cinemas in South Korea, but also at 14 locations in the USA and 3 locations in Canada.
The movie was released in DVD on July 24, 2019 and in Blu-Ray on August 21, 2019.

TWICE 1st Arena Tour 2018 "BDZ"
TWICE 1st Arena Tour 2018 "BDZ" is the first Japanese concert tour by TWICE. The first show was held on September 29, 2018 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
I criticized the 1st Japanese tour for just rehashing remakes of old TWICE songs in Japanese. But this is what I'm talking about. Nearly 3 years after their debut in October 2015, TWICE released their 1st Full Japanese album with the requisite re-release of Korean songs in Japanese but also a hand full of original Japanese songs to boot. Songs like "Wake Me Up", "Say It Again", "Luv Me", "One More Time", "Pink Lemonade", "L.O.V.E.", "Be As One", "Stay By My Side", "Brand New Girl", "Wishing", "Candy Pop", & of course the title track of their tour, "BDZ". Not to mention an English cover of "I Want You Back".
The number of original Japanese songs that TWICE and their JYP hit makers produced is prolific and unprecedented and goes to show how much they love the craft and their Japanese ONCEs.
TWICE Dome Tour 2019 "#Dreamday"
TWICE Dome Tour 2019 "#Dreamday" is the first Japanese dome tour by TWICE. The first show was held March 20, 2019 at Kyocera Dome Osaka in Osaka, Japan.
More of the same from the BDZ Arena Tour, but on a more massive scale being TWICE's first Dome tour in Japan. It's great to see them transition into a grander more operatic scale and moving into more mature themes in terms of costuming and stages when performing the same songs from past eras. New songs include "The Best Thing I Ever Did", "Yes or Yes (Japanese Version)", and some remixes.

TWICE World Tour 2019 'TWICELIGHTS'
TWICE World Tour 2019 'TWICELIGHTS' is the first world tour (third overall) held by TWICE. The first show was held on May 25, 2019, at KSPO Dome in Seoul, South Korea.
TWICE set a lot of precedents with each of their world tours, and this time it's their first US appearance. Of course, no Mina, but the show must go on in one of their longest tours that unfortunately got cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic. This tour represented their full on transition to mature themed girl group being an associated release with "Fancy", "Feel Special", and &TWICE. Showcase highlights include "STUCK IN MY HEAD", "STRAWBERRY", and of course "FANCY".They didn't get to "Feel Special" yet, probably saving it for their homecoming finale shows in 2020 but that never happened. :( And the final encore song of "STUCK ON YOU" will have you bawling like a baby T_T.
The first shows in Seoul have been filmed and released in DVD on May 7, 2020. A Blu-Ray version was also released on June 5, 2020.
Twice World Tour 2019 [Twicelights] In Seoul (incl. 32pg Photobook,Sticker + Hologram Bookmark) [Blu-ray]
That's gonna conclude this post. I may add TWICE in Wonderland and TWICE 4th World Tour III if and when the DVD/Blu-ray is released.
Stay tuned for Part 4: Fan Meetings. (Which may come further down in the future)
